The main objective in teaching
a foreign language is to develop the student's ability and competence
in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Classes are taught by DIRECT METHOD,
which follows a natural learning process. Ideally, they are held
in English and are given by native language teachers. This means
that students are encouraged to think directly in English from the
very beginning. New grammar and vocabulary are introduced and developed
through the use of highly controlled practice activities. At this
early stage, the teacher concentrates on pronunciation, pace and
intonation and corrects students' mistakes. Once students have mastered
the basics, they begin to practise more naturally and apply what
they have learned to realistic situations.

Above all, students must
be motivated and interested in learning a foreign language.
With this in mind, it is important to base a language course
on topics that interest the students, bearing in mind their
age and background.

In addition to course books, CD
Roms, videos and cassette tapes have all proven to be effective
teaching materials, so that students hear a wide range of accents
and expressions.
