Our main objective in children’s
classes is to teach basic English conversational skills, to motivate
the students and maintain their interest in learning a foreign language.
Children’s classes are taught in English by DIRECT METHOD. For lower
levels, we concentrate on vocabulary building through the use of
games, songs, story-telling, flashcards etc. Writing in English
is introduced at a later stage when the children have become accustomed
to listening and speak confidently in English.
Inter-Com English follows a syllabus,
which is in preparation for the TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON examinations.
Students, from the age of seven, are given the option of taking
this examination at the end of May. Candidates are examined according
to their level of English, which consists of a conversation with
an examiner appointed by Trinity College London. Successful candidates
are awarded with an INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA.
We also prepare students from the
age of 13 for the University of Cambridge examinations (PET, FCE,
CAE).
