Churchill House was founded in 1971 and has taught over 30,000 students of various nationalities. Churchill House is recognised by the British Council and is a member of ARELS, the Association of Recognised English Language Services in Great Britain. Recognised schools are inspected regularly by the British Council for the quality of their premises, management, resources, staff, welfare and teaching. Churchill House is a modern progressive school with a well established tradition in teaching, accommodation and leisure. Situated in the county of Kent, only 110 kilometres away from London, Ramsgate has one of the highest amounts of sunshine in England. It has a population of 42,000, so you can enjoy a healthy stay free from the problems of city life. Churchill House is a medium sized school, neither so large that a student becomes merely a number, nor so small that good organisation and a wide range of facilites and levels are impossible. Facilities include language laboratory, library, individual language centre and a pleasant garden. We also have our own pub, The Churchill Tavern, and Churchill’s Clubroom with self-service restaurant, disco, video and pool table.

LANGUAGE COURSES AND PROGRAMMES

Our highly qualified teaching staff takes a personal interest in each student to ensure that they make maximum progress. Churchill House offers free advice to help students choose a suitable course.
Main courses are 20 lessons per week, held during the morning or afternoon. Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. Intensive courses are 30 lessons per week, held during the morning and afternoon. Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. In addition, there is a business class, covering the use of English in a range of commercial and business topics. Alternatively, students can choose courses which specifically relate to the examinations of the University of Cambridge or the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Churchill House also offers special summer courses for young adults and adolescents.
